Orked keeps on begging us for a ride together since she started to ride independently without training wheel. So, last 2 weeks, on the 20th July 2024, I basically suggest to have family ride at Taman Botani, Shah Alam because for me, there is less car, and more safe for her.
But it’s not as I thought. I forgot one thing: Taman Botani is so hilly! At the beginning of our cycle, she was doing fine. Orked managed to cycle uphill, but the incident happened during our last downhill. The downhill was so steep, and she wasn’t experienced enough to use the hand brake well, so she over-braked and fell, and I did too!
The reason I fell was because I was so shocked when she fell and tried to help her. However, I did the same, over-braked, and fell. I don’t remember exactly how I fell, but I recall that the front tire over-gripped, and I somersaulted? Haha. But when I realized it, I was already lying on the ground.
Orked was already crying hysterically. It was her first time, and it was quite terrifying for her, while her mother laughed at the incident. It was also my first time falling off a bike and getting injured. I laughed because of it. Luckily, I wasn’t wearing cycling shoes, or it would have harmed me more.
So, the ride was cut short due to the incident, but it was a good moment to spend together.
